Management change at European Turf Group
The European Turf Group (ETG), a subsidiary of Recreational Systems International (RSI), has appointed Rene van Hinthum as the new Business Unit Manager. The appointment frees up founding director Arnoud Fiolet to spend more time on the holding company RSI.
The management change comes at a time where the ETG has cemented its reputation for quality hybrid and artificial turf surfaces. “ETG’s unique hybrid and artificial turf surfaces are increasingly being identified by top-flight sports clubs and stadiums as the surface of choice,” says Arnoud Fiolet who started ETG over 10 years ago. “Our drive for quality and innovation has also caught the eye of sports governing bodies like the European Hockey Federation (EHF) and national authorities,” he adds. Just over a month ago the Dutch government tasked the company to develop a new artificial turf product that will be 100% recyclable. RSI has also agreed to build the Athletic Skills Parks that the Athletic Skills Company has developed to answer the growing need for sports-, play- and exercising facilities within the communities.
The growth in the sports and landscaping industries ETG has experienced in the past few years, as well as RSI’s drive to be innovative, warrant the appointment of a new director.
Rene van Hinthum brings in extensive knowledge and experience in the international sports and landscaping industry. His appointment will help the ETG maintaining its focus to deliver quality and remain innovative. It will also help further streamlining ETG’s management processes.
“The new decennium as well as the growing international focus on sustainability bring exciting times to the artificial turf industry. I am pleased that my role as Business Unit Manager for ETG will allow me to make a difference that will benefit current and future generations,” Rene van Hinthum says.
As the ETG hybrid and artificial turf portfolio are vital to many RSI concepts, including its Stadium Concept and the Athletic Skills Parks, Rene van Hinthum and Arnoud Fiolet will closely work together to deliver and grow the respective businesses.
The appointment became effective on 1 January 2020.
