Dome Purifying Units

Air purifying units for indoor facilities

We have added air purifying technology to our portfolio. The biopolar ionization technology is already used for purifying air in places frequented by people with respiratory problems. American authorities accept the technology to sanitize air in indoor facilities.

Dome Purifying Units

Biopolar ionization technology uses ions to charge airborne particles. Ions are molecules or atoms that contain an electrical charge and exist in nature in various amounts. Levels detected in cities and inside buildings are usually 80% to 95% lower than what is deemed “healthy.” A low ion density means poor air quality.

Charging airborne particles with ions makes the particles cluster together. Bacteria and virus cells that bond with oxygen ions are destroyed, while odorous gases and aerosols oxidize on contact.

All global health issues of the last decade are airborne health scares. With particles typically being the vehicle that transmit bacteria and viruses from person to person, it is important to improve the efficiency of the HVAC or air-handling unit. Our technology sits in these units and improves the effectiveness of the filter,
Arnoud Fiolet - RSI SPORTS Managing Partner

Typical filters in HVAC and air-handling units fail to capture 99.5% of all airborne particles passing through. As a result, indoor air is 10 times more contaminated than outdoor air. Therefore, the latest addition to the RSI SPORTS portfolio improves the efficiency of the HVAC and air-handling units significantly.

We offer several different air purifying units to cater for indoor facilities of any size and use. They are available individually or as part of a package that delivers a fully equipped (temporary) RSI indoor sports facility.

Our Airdome concept is a very popular solution. It alleviates the temporary need for indoor facilities because it doesn’t require the permissions and paperwork associated with brick and mortar facilities. Nevertheless, we also want to assist permanent indoor sports facilities. COVID-19 shows how important it is that people play sports and exercise, and our aim is to make that happen.”

The US manufacturer of the units is registered with the American Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a supplier for air sanitizing equipment. Registration for “air sanitization” with the relevant and competent authorities in Europe is pending. However, the technology already fully complies with European technical standards.
